What is Wipro Wista

WiSTA  (Wipro Software Technology Academy) is an 8-semester (4 years) off-campus collaborative M.Tech Programme with VIT offering the best IT platform, soft skills and live project exposure.

THE WiSTA-VIT PARTNERSHIP

The VIT University-WiSTA collaboration offering quality education to the talent pipeline of Wipro has completed more than a decade of operations and is testimonial to the Wipro commitment of nurturing and developing talent.

Vellore Institute of Technology (Vellore, Tamil Nadu) is a premier engineering institution in India. A globally recognized institution, the VIT has been conferred the 'Deemed University Status' in recognition of its academic excellence by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and the UGC, New Delhi, apart from various international accreditations for its programs.

The pedagogy and evaluation methodologies were chosen and implemented by VIT in consultation with Wipro's Talent Transformation division while VIT arranges the faculty and awards the degree.

Advantages

An immediate exposure to IT industry with best projects and it will pays off nicely after 4 years.Plus you continue to enjoy the feeling of a student.

Opportunities for non-engineering students from courses such as BCA and BSc to enrol in this we earn while you learn’ programme.

The programme exposes students projects in some of Wipro’s campuses in the country along with the theory Classes by VIT faculties. Under VIT’s WiSTA (Wipro Software Technology Academy), science graduates can get M.Tech in Information Technology.

IMPROVEMENTS

As in programme policy, they saying that they are giving certificates without showing how many years you studied and will not show any years.I have one question, without year of passing whether a degreee certifiacte is valid? In every degree we will get semster wise marklist and it contain year and semster.

Inspite of providing so many benefits to students, still the underlying business reason to go for B.Sc graduates is obvious that they come for less price when compared to B.Tech/MCA graduates. The stipend (as they refer Salary) looks less when compared to Industry salaries for B.Tech/MCA freshers. After getting into the job, this would definitely be pinching the B.Sc graduates who work along with B.Tech freshers who have just a year more academic education but draw double their salary/stipend. Wipro should revive the perks for WASE/WISTA students which will definitely motivate many students to join in this program.

It’s an interesting catch to situation for B.Sc student, as it takes more time for him to get in at a good payroll by taking up WISTA/WASE kind of job and start with less pay and gradually grow in career. WIPRO looks like capitalizing the situation by providing mutual benefits. If they revive WASE stipend, then students will be happier.

  1. One of the critical suggestion everyone are asking to mention about:
Cant it be reduced in terms of syllabus for final exam excluding the syllabus included for the midterm. Hope this idea turns to be a valid one in your consideration.

  5. Even I agree for this Sunil, we are not regular students, it's difficult to prepare for two subjects (and 100 marks each) in a single day. We can try our best if syllabus is less atleast.
